We are ideally looking for a Consultant, but will consider applications from other qualified Doctors (GP & SAS Doctors or equivalent) with experience in managing the treatment of Eating Disorders in young persons.
The role involves contributing to the assessment and therapeutic needs of children, young people, and their families across various settings, and collaborating with the team to devise and implement customised treatment plans.

Main duties of the jobAt Cornwall CYPED, we are dedicated to providing NICE-concordant, evidence-based treatments for children and young people with eating disorders. As a key member of our team, you will assess and address the therapeutic needs of our patients and their families, contributing to the development and implementation of personalized treatment plans. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our status as having the lowest rates for specialist ED bed use in the South West.
You will work within a dynamic multidisciplinary team that includes paediatrics, nursing, systemic family therapy, psychology, and other therapeutic specialties. Cornwall CYPED is recognized as a regional leader for its innovative services, such as our physical monitoring program, parent support groups, Bulimia treatment pathway, and collaboration with the local Adolescent Unit to enhance eating disorder care. Your role will be essential in advancing our service, particularly in initiatives for ARFID and day care provision for Anorexia Nervosa.

Person Specification Experience- CCT/ or equivalent in CAMHS
- substantial experience of managing a busy caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems
- Working within a community mental health setting
- participation in user involvement in services
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems
- Specialist knowledge in perinatal mental health or willingness to undertake training
- Excellent clinical assessment skills
- ability to manage risk
- Awareness of community structures and social care options and processes
- Understanding of recovery principles in mental health
