The Role:
We are seeking a Commercial Manager, also known as an Insights Sales Manager, to join us on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible for our overall commercial performance across designated categories, with direct accountability for sales to key strategic clients. Your role includes building and executing plans to target new clients, cross-sell, upsell, and renew existing business. You will also set up and enable your team to meet these sales targets and manage their roles accordingly.
Key Accountabilities:
- Achieve sales targets and KPIs for your insights sales team.
- Develop and implement category sales strategies and go-to-market plans, engaging the team in high-growth opportunities and managing client pipelines.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts (monthly, quarterly, annually) for renewals, new business, and strategic projects.
- Ensure an effective, continuously improving B2B sales cycle, including Lead Generation, Discovery, Qualification, Pitching, Negotiation, and Closing, and upskill the team in dunnhumby products and solutions.
- Promote sales excellence by staying informed on market trends, competitors, and sales training needs.
- Set individual targets and forecast sales accurately for team members.
- Build strategic relationships at all levels to maximize growth potential.
- Understand CPG & Retailer needs to ensure a mutually beneficial sales approach.
- Maintain a strong relationship with Client Success teams to ensure customer satisfaction and commercial success.
- Represent dunnhumby at industry events and collaborate with marketing to generate inbound leads.
- Manage risks effectively, uphold company values and conduct, and ensure the team has necessary skills and training.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Experience leading and managing a team.
- Strong understanding or experience in the Retail/CPG industry.
- Relevant work experience in B2B sales, preferably SaaS.
