Job Description:

Responsibilities
  • Lead the orthopaedic inpatient and outpatient service, achieving associated KPIs and contributing to growth and development.
  • Maintain a daily orthopaedic inpatient and outpatient caseload.
  • Maintain an inpatient orthopaedic caseload including participation in pre assessment clinic for joint and spinal patients.
  • Work with Orthopaedic Consultants/Registrars in outpatient clinics as part of the multidisciplinary team, performing assessment, treatment and triage of musculoskeletal/orthopaedic patients in conservative, pre operative and post surgical settings.
  • Triage, assess, treat, and onward refer patients who attend fracture clinic as appropriate.
Essential Criteria
  • Hold a degree in physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Be registered on the physiotherapists register maintained by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU and be a member of or eligible for membership with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
  • Have a proven record of clinical experience in orthopaedic physiotherapy with a minimum of 5 years full time experience in the required area.
  • Demonstrate relevant musculoskeletal and inpatient orthopaedic physiotherapy continuing professional development; it is desirable to be in the process of completing or to have completed a relevant postgraduate qualification at master's level or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrate achievement in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
  • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability, including a high standard of suitability and professional ability, for the proper discharge of the duties of the role.
  • Work with the physiotherapy manager to coordinate, develop and deliver a quality, client centred physiotherapy service.
