Job Description
Vacancy: Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist - Community Alcohol and Drug Service

A vacancy has arisen within CADS for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Community Alcohol and Drug Service based at Falkirk Community Hospital.

The post holder must be a 1 st level Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) or Registered General Nurse (RGN) trained to degree level, with post-qualifications in a relevant specialty. Desirable qualifications include non-medical prescriber status or a willingness to undertake this training. The post involves providing clinical expertise, leadership, and supervision to nursing staff involved in delivering evidence-based, effective, specialist interventions to individuals with substance use problems, including alcohol-related issues.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will implement the principles of the recovery model of care and treatment for those with drug and alcohol-related issues. This includes providing formal supervision to team members to ensure patients are progressing along the recovery pathway and receiving appropriate clinical interventions.

Substance use services promote a recovery-oriented, integrated model of care in collaboration with partner agencies. Good interpersonal skills and experience in team working are essential for this role.

Willingness and ability to travel throughout the service delivery area is required.
