Job DescriptionThis position is for a Clinical Nurse Manager III - Haematology/Oncology Operational Manager at our Hospital client in Dublin.
Full time / Permanent Contract
Responsibilities- Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Haematology/Oncology service.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centred care.
- Lead, manage, and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams to achieve service objectives.
- Coordinate day-to-day operational management of the department, including staffing, rostering, and resource allocation.
- Monitor and improve clinical standards, quality indicators, and patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, HIQA standards, national guidelines, and professional regulations.
- Manage workforce planning, recruitment, induction, performance management, and staff development.
- Promote continuous quality improvement, clinical audit, and risk management initiatives.
- Lead incident reporting, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Support implementation of service improvements, innovation, and change management projects.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, consultants, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Oversee budgetary and resource management to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and departmental records.
- Foster a culture of professional development, education, and evidence-based practice.
- Participate in strategic planning and contribute to achieving organisational and departmental goals.
- Registered on the General Division of the Register of Nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum 5 years post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting, including 3-5 years in a nursing management role.
- Hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Oncology Nursing.
- Completed a management training programme at least Diploma level.
- Demonstrate strong clinical competence, professional judgment, and leadership skills.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and team management abilities, with proficiency in the English language.
- Show evidence of continuous professional development and a commitment to advancing nursing practice.
- Knowledge of operational procedures, risk management, clinical audit, human resource practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and capable of analysing data, reporting outcomes, and implementing service improvements.
- Capable of working effectively under pressure, using initiative, managing change, and maintaining awareness of JCI standards and best practice guidelines.
