Cleaner - Cape Primary School

Position Overview

Experienced cleaner needed for a primary school in Smethwick. The role is part time, 15 hours per week from 3:15 pm to 6:15 pm.

Responsibilities

• Vacuuming, sweeping, polishing, dusting and emptying litter bins.
• Deep cleaning and the use of powered cleaning equipment.
• Safe handling of cleaning chemicals and machinery.
• Flexible availability during school holidays.

Qualifications

• Prior practical cleaning experience.
• Understanding of the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery.
• Trustworthy, reliable and hardworking.
• Enhanced DBS clearance required or willingness to obtain.

Benefits & Details

• Hours: 15 hours per week (3:15 pm - 6:15 pm).
• Grade: Band A, SCP 3. Salary: £24,796 pro rata (£12.85 per hour, actual £10,052 per annum). Living wage supplement to £13.45 per hour from 1 April 2026.
• Location: Cape Primary School, Cape Hill, Smethwick, B66 4SH.
• Contract: Permanent.
• Closing date: Friday 1 May 2026 at 4 pm.
