Job Summary

Berkeley Scott is recruiting a Chef Manager for temporary agency work in High Wycombe, starting September.

This role involves managing daily kitchen operations across schools and catering businesses, leading teams, and ensuring high standards.

Pay ranges from £18.00 to £24.00 per hour, depending on experience and the end employer.

The position suits an organised hospitality professional with strong leadership abilities, offering flexibility across multiple sites.

You will oversee food preparation, maintain hygiene compliance, and coordinate staff schedules.

Previous management experience is essential for this varied contract.

Location: High Wycombe and surrounding areas.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of busy kitchens
• Leading, motivating and supporting kitchen teams
• Planning and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety and allergen standards
• Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
• Ensuring kitchens operate efficiently and meet client expectations

What we're looking for:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar kitchen management role
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable
• Two satisfactory references
• An Enhanced DBS certificate
• The right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential
