Catering Assistant

Salary: £23,539 FTE
Contract: Permanent, Fractional, Term Time Only
Closing Date: 3rd July 2026, noon.

Overview

We are looking for a flexible team-player to join our Refectory Team. The role will include preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and snacks to students and staff, and cleaning and washing up.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to students and staff
• Clean and maintain kitchen and dining areas
• Assist with ordering and inventory of catering supplies
• Work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekend duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous catering experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
• Must have or be prepared to work towards a Level 2 hygiene certificate

Working Hours

The core working hours are Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 3pm (35 hrs). One day per week will be until 2.30pm and another until 3.30pm. Flexibility is required, including overtime and occasional weekend duties.
