We are looking for an outstanding Bank Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.

You'll be working bank shifts at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers general adolescent and intensive support CAMHS services for male and female adolescents over three distinct wards.

Within the adult service, women are supported by a full multi disciplinary team who are focused on helping service users regain independence, maintain family links and prepare for discharge. There is a focus on community access, therapy and meaningful activity and offering a warm and welcoming environment for the delivery of support and care.

In the separate and distinct CAMHS services at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield, young people may be admitted to either our general or one of our intensive support CAMHS wards depending on their individual needs. All young people are supported by a full multi disciplinary team alongside the therapy and education departments.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Assist the team in providing balanced, appetising meals; perform basic food preparation, cooking tasks & other kitchen duties.
  • Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately.
  • Sort, store & distribute ingredients, check deliveries and assist with stock ordering.
  • Maintain personal hygiene and ensure the kitchen is clean & hygienic.
  • Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

You are

  • Passionate about catering, preferably with experience within a care setting.
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn and an active team member.
  • Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times.
  • An excellent communicator who can liaise with people at all levels.
  • Able to work on your own initiative & under supervision.
  • Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness.
