Associate Procurement Manager

- The Procurement Managers who work within the Trust undertake work independently for a section of the organisation but report to the Head of Procurement.
- The aim of the role is to deliver cost and efficiency savings across the Trust, by analysing current spend in specific categories and to support the development and implementation of procurement strategies.
- The Procurement managers are expected to develop into experts in their field and be able to work entirely autonomously, once trained, developing special interest areas where appropriate and assisting in the development and knowledge sharing of other members of the procurement team.
- Post holders will investigate complex procurement enquiries and providing advice, ensuring contract compliance under the guidance of the Deputy Head of Procurement.
- Post holders will be responsible for ensuring that they deliver a cost effective purchasing and contracts work programme, developing and maintaining this to achieve the targeted financial savings for their area.
- Post holders will be responsible for knowledge sharing on a day to day basis with the Procurement Admin Team and acting as the point of contact for junior members of staff whilst on site.

Person Specification Qualifications- Degree in procurement or relevant related subject or significant and demonstrable procurement knowledge and skill expected to be gained over approximately 2 - 3 years
- Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supplies qualification or a commitment to work towards it
- Previous NHS procurement experience within a non-clinical category.
- Use of the Atamis and EFin Systems
- Excellent understanding of mechanisms to engage stakeholders
- Up to date knowledge of procurement contract law and dispute resolution and demonstrable experience of practically using same skills
