Assistant Professor in TESOL/Applied Linguistics

Title: Assistant Professor in TESOL/Applied Linguistics

The School of Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics (MLAL) at the University of Limerick invites applications for this role. The position is a 1-year fixed term contract.

Job Synopsis

The role involves teaching, research, and supervision within the TESOL and Applied Linguistics fields. Responsibilities include delivering undergraduate and postgraduate modules, lecturing, conducting tutorials for MA programmes, supervising students, and contributing to the Section's postgraduate programmes such as MA TESOL and MA Applied Linguistics.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate TESOL and Applied Linguistics modules, delivering lectures and tutorials, and supporting student learning.
  • Contribute to the Section's postgraduate programmes, particularly the MA TESOL and MA Applied Linguistics.
  • Supervise postgraduate students.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities relevant to TESOL, World Englishes, technology, materials design, and linguistic description.
Qualifications
  • PhD in TESOL/Applied Linguistics or a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated research record including competitive research funding, publications, and academic development.
  • Experience in teaching across a range of modules and ability to design engaging courses.

1-Year Fixed Term Contract.
