Assistant Manager - Full Time

Position Overview

We are looking to recruit a new Assistant Manager for our shop in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. This is a permanent full time position working a variety of shifts, 5 days per week, usually including at least one weekend shift. Flexibility across the week, including weekends, is required.

Hours and Pay

The contract is 43 hours per week.

The salary offered is £31,449.60 - £35,306.88 per annum.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to customers.
• Develop the team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and providing feedback.
• Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the shop manager, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are worked quickly, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean and tidy shop.
• Motivate and guide your team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
• Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.

Qualifications and Skills

• A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
• Strong people skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Trustworthy and reliable; must be integral to a small team, dependable to customers and the team at all times.
• Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.
• Will complete an Employment Verification check and a Basic DBS check (England/Wales) or Disclosure Scotland check.
