Assistant Branch Manager

Location: Stanford-le-Hope, Essex

Salary: £60,000.00 + car allowance

Summary: A proactive and driven Assistant Branch Manager is required to support the leadership of our clients 155,000 sq ft logistics and cross-dock operation, employing around 100 staff across warehouse, transport and operational functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into senior operational leadership within a fast paced, modern logistics environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring smooth operational alignment across Transport, Warehouse, and Logistics teams.
• Managing, motivating, and supporting teams across warehouse, drivers and operational staff.
• Achieving operational KPIs, productivity goals and high service levels.
• Upholding high standards of health & safety, compliance and best practice.
• Working closely with customers and internal teams to maintain performance and service quality.
• Supporting labour planning, shift performance and staffing requirements.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across transport and cross dock operations.
• Assisting with management of the branch P&L, labour costs, operations spend and productivity.
• Helping develop operational strategy and drive performance enhancements.

Experience:

• Proven experience in warehouse and logistics management.
• Experience managing large operational teams within logistics or distribution.
• Excellent leadership, decision making and organisational skills.
• Solid understanding of transport, warehouse and logistics operations.
• Experience with WMS systems and operational KPIs.
• Strong communication and problem solving abilities.
• Experience within 3PL environments; logistics/transport qualifications (e.g. CILT); and managing multi function logistics operations would be desirable.
