About the role

Do you have a passion for education? Do you enjoy working with a range of stakeholders? Do you have experience working within a school setting and presenting to large groups? This exciting opportunity might be for you!

Location: home based with regular travel to schools across East/South East London (travel costs across London will be reimbursed)

This is a full-time permanent contract (37 hours per week).

About the role

The AIM programme aims to deliver information, advice, and guidance to young people, parents/carers, and teachers on apprenticeships and vocational pathways. This is achieved through group interactions and one-to-one support to promote apprenticeship uptake and meet the programme's KPIs.

AIM London advisers will be allocated a geographical area of London as their primary delivery zone. They will manage local relationships with schools within this area, delivering planned activities, which may include some outside normal office hours and occasional delivery beyond their assigned area based on contract needs. There is significant scope for home working for administrative tasks and remote delivery.

Key requirements:

Knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of the local labour market, especially apprenticeship opportunities and pathways.
  • Understanding of wider education, employment, and training opportunities for young people.
  • Experience working with young people and understanding their career aspirations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legislation and statutory requirements related to working with young people.
  • Commitment to equality of opportunity and diversity.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of the secondary school landscape and delivery challenges.
  • Understanding of Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance developments.
  • Experience using digital and social media in a workplace setting.
  • Knowledge of evaluation methods and impact measurement.
Experience
  • Experience working with young people, preferably in a school or college setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver impactful presentations and workshops tailored to audiences.
  • Experience working collaboratively with stakeholders and managing caseloads.
  • Experience in careers guidance in any setting.

Salary: £28,006 per annum (including London weighting) with annual increments.
