Job Description

Administrator - Contract - Castlerea Co Roscommon

3 - 4 months contract initially with the prospect of the role becoming permanent.

To provide efficient administrative and clerical support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of organisations' offices, programmes, and services, particularly in areas such as advisory services, education, and research.

Responsibilities Administrative Support
  • Manage office operations including filing systems, records, and databases
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
  • Prepare reports, documents, and presentations
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and events
Customer & Stakeholder Service
  • Act as the first point of contact for farmers, students, stakeholders, and the public
  • Provide accurate information on organisation's services, courses, and schemes
  • Support client queries in person, by phone, and online
Data & Systems Management
  • Maintain and update internal systems and client databases
  • Process applications, registrations, and payments where relevant
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection standards
Financial & Office Support
  • Assist with basic financial administration (invoicing, purchase orders, expense tracking)
  • Support procurement and office supply management
  • Help coordinate logistics for events, training sessions, and farm visits
Team Support
  • Assist advisors, researchers, and education officers with admin tasks
  • Contribute to project coordination and reporting
  • Support internal communication across departments
Requirements
  • 2-3years experience in administration, front office, with strong administration and customer service skills.
  • Experience in a public sector or agricultural environment
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
