Job Introduction

Hours: 4 mornings per week (term time only) (8.30am - 12pm)

Braishfield Primary School is looking to appoint a friendly, organised and professional Administrative Assistant to join our welcoming team. This is an important front facing role, helping to ensure the smooth day to day running of our school office and providing a positive first impression for pupils, families and visitors.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Act as the first point of contact for all enquiries and visitors to the school
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the school reception and office
  • Maintain accurate pupil and staff records using school management systems (Arbor)
  • Support basic financial processes, including handling payments and maintaining records
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues toward shared goals
  • Provide welfare support to pupils, including first aid and the administration of medication (training can be provided)
  • Promote and uphold the positive image of the school in all communications with parents, visitors and external agencies
  • Assist with admissions, attendance and general administrative duties

The successful candidate will have:

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Strong IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications including Excel
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy office environment
  • The ability to work effectively with staff, parents, pupils and external agencies
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of school administrative systems; experience of the Arbor Management Information System would be desirable
  • Knowledge of school website management and social media communications would be advantageous
  • An understanding of health and safety, safeguarding and data protection requirements
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative once established in the role
