Position Summary

IE University is seeking an Adjunct Professor with expertise in software engineering and DevOps practices to join the faculty of our Bachelor in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. The course, Software Development and DevOps, offers students a holistic view of the modern software development life cycle and practical experience implementing DevOps strategies in agile environments.

This is an opportunity to bring real-world knowledge into the classroom and contribute to shaping a new generation of technology professionals at one of Europe's most international and innovative universities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 35 in-person sessions in Fall 2024 at our Madrid campus.

Teach core concepts such as:

• Software development life cycle (SDLC) and methodologies
• Agile project management and Scrum
• DevOps principles, tooling, and culture
• Software architecture and design patterns
• CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), cloud platforms (Azure), and containers (Docker)
• Infrastructure as Code and DevSecOps

• Guide students through individual and group assignments involving hands-on application of DevOps practices.
• Design assessments including a midterm, final exam, and continuous evaluation activities.
• Engage students through active learning, applied exercises, and team collaboration.
• Provide timely feedback and academic support.

Candidate Profile

Required:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (PhD preferred)
• Proven professional experience in software development and/or DevOps engineering
• Familiarity with tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Docker, Azure, and CI/CD pipelines
• Fluent English and strong communication skills

Preferred:

• Previous teaching experience in higher education
• Experience in Agile teams or cloud-native software delivery
• Knowledge of academic evaluation methods
