Actuarial Manager: The Ageas UK Actuarial Departmentis looking to hire an experienced Reserving Actuary to play a key role in theReserving Team. The Reserving team is starting some exciting transformationprojects to modernise our own way of working. The role would be ideal forsomeone who enjoys both project management and coding, particularly when itcomes to developing processes in Python.
The team is in charge of Reserving, forecasting performance,and providing valuable insights to various stakeholders to help them makebusiness decisions. The team is critical to the company's ability to understandperformance in the face of rapidly changing market conditions. If you enjoydelving into the drivers of claims experience and explaining them to thebusiness, and you prefer a lot of variety in your day-to-day work, we believeyou'll enjoy the work we off er.
Working regularly with colleagues from across the business,the candidate will assist the Senior Actuarial Managers and the Chief Actuaryin all aspects of the team's work; thus, a proven track record of preparing andpresenting a variety of actuarial analysis to stakeholders is essential.
The main responsibilities of the Actuarial Manager:
- Oversee quarterly andmonthly reserve reviews, prepare detailed reports, and conductclaims-related analyses.
- Help steer thedepartment's transformation projects and strategic priorities.
- Lead claims analysis togenerate actionable insights for the business and communicate results.
- Review team members' workand contribute to effective communication of resu lts.
The successful Actuarial Manager will have:
- Demonstrates extensiveknowledge of general insurance and actuarial principles, includingreserving and pricing.
- Demonstrates proactiveand innovative project management skills, including effective delegationand prioritisation, to ensure appropriate participation and support.
- Strong problem-solvingskills, and the ability to act with a high degree of autonomy. They will be aconfident self-starter.
- Excellent communicationskills and experience preparing and presenting technical reports tonon-actuarial stakeholders.
- Demonstrates effectivemanagement and mentoring skills, including setting a good example, maintaininga visible leadership presence, and managing performance
