The role:

The Group Products Division develops and oversees the suite of products and services available to clients of St. James's Place, ensuring they are fairly priced, support business growth, and deliver good client outcomes.

The main purpose of the role is to provide actuarial expertise and product technical support to stakeholders across SJP and on projects, as well as overseeing and guiding Actuarial Specialists and Analysts in the Division.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support Division Leads on large and cross-business projects as a Subject Matter Expert, such as launching new products or implementing regulatory changes.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects, such as enhancing investment propositions and tools.
  • Oversee and review work of Actuarial Specialists and Analysts to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure accuracy of illustrations, terms, conditions, and product documentation.
  • Provide technical and actuarial support on areas like Capital Gains Tax, Critical Yield Calculations, and product functionality.
  • Maintain relationships with internal teams and third-party providers.
  • Provide figures and analysis to support business decisions.
Who we're looking for:

We seek a collaborative, analytical professional with strong attention to detail, capable of supporting projects, ensuring accuracy, and providing technical guidance.

  • Qualified or nearly qualified actuary with experience in financial services or related regions.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and leading teams.
  • Proven ability to lead small and medium projects and support larger initiatives as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Expertise in product technical and actuarial support, including financial projections and modelling.
  • Understanding of the financial services environment to make confident recommendations.
  • Effective communicator of technical content to diverse audiences.

Special Requirements:

This role is based in Cirencester with a hybrid working approach, requiring regular office attendance.
