Job Description

Accounts Assistant (Hybrid - Norwich)

Temporary (3-6 months initially)

Location: Hybrid working - Norwich Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:30)Hourly rate: c£13.00-£13.25 (depending on experience)

The Opportunity

Join a fast-paced finance team during an exciting period of change and transformation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Accounts Assistant to play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting improvements to systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and allocate customer payments, including direct debits, card, and bank transfers
  • Issue and manage refunds and credit notes
  • Raise invoices across accounts
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor outstanding balances and support credit control activities
  • Assist with daily bank reconciliations and month-end tasks
  • Respond to payment queries and liaise with internal teams
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial data

About You

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Administration role
  • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable processes
  • High attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy
  • Confident using financial systems and Excel
  • Organised, able to meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in high-volume environments
  • Studying towards AAT or similar qualification
