Job Purpose

The Probation Service is looking for an empathetic, patient, and organised officer to support people on probation before and after sentence. The role involves managing cases, assessing risk, implementing sentences, and producing reports to aid offender recovery and public safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessment and risk appraisal of people on probation.
• Implement sentences and manage offender responses.
• Provide case management support using service procedures and professional judgement.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports to courts, prison services and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate community supervision.
• Monitor and update case files in line with statutory requirements.

Working Conditions

You will be based in a variety of office, court and team locations within the Probation Service region, with allocations made according to business need. The role offers a supportive team environment and opportunities for professional development.
