z/OS Systems Programmer (Mainframe) - Fully Remote - Contract

We are looking for an experienced z/OS Systems Programmer to join our team, supporting the migration, installation, maintenance, and performance optimisation of IBM z/OS environments. This role is critical to ensuring reliability, security, and efficiency across our Mainframe infrastructure, while contributing to modernisation and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, and RACF
• Manage system patches, upgrades, and performance tuning
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Mainframe systems issues
• Support integrations, migrations, and deployments across the platform
• Ensure adherence to security policies and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver efficient and secure solutions

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience in z/OS systems programming
• Proficiency with JCL, REXX, CLIST, and SMP/E
• Hands-on experience with RACF administration
• Demonstrable ability to manage and troubleshoot enterprise Mainframe environments
• Experience with ISV tools such as Broadcom, BMC, or equivalent (desirable)
