Year 4 Primary Teacher (Job Share)

Year 4 Teacher, Job Share Peacehaven (BN10) Mondays and Tuesdays MPS up to M6

Sussex Teachers is recruiting a qualified Primary Teacher for a Year 4 job share at a large, friendly community primary school in Peacehaven, East Sussex. The role is two days a week, every Monday and Tuesday, starting on Monday 2 November 2026 and running until February half term 2027.

This is an ideal part-time teaching job for a teacher who wants regular, predictable days in one school, a single class to get to know, and a supportive job-share partner covering the rest of the week.

About the School

• A two-form entry community primary school with its own nursery, teaching children from age 2 to 11
• Around 450 pupils, so you will have a parallel Year 4 class and colleagues to plan with
• A specialist on-site provision for pupils with autism, giving the school strong inclusion and SEND expertise
• Easy to reach from Brighton, Saltdean, Telscombe Cliffs, Newhaven, Seaford and Lewes, on the A259 coast road with regular bus services

The Role

• Teaching a Year 4 class in Lower Key Stage 2 every Monday and Tuesday
• Planning and delivering engaging lessons in partnership with the job-share teacher
• Assessing pupils' progress and sharing clear handover notes so the week runs smoothly
• Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEND, with help from experienced staff
• Following the school's safeguarding procedures and policies at all times

Contract Details

• Days: Monday and Tuesday (0.4 FTE job share)
• Start date: Monday 2 November 2026
• End date: February half term 2027
• Pay: Main Pay Scale (MPS) up to M6, depending on experience, paid per day worked (up to £240.72 per day)
• Paid weekly via PAYE, with no umbrella companies and no hidden deductions

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in a UK primary school, ideally in Key Stage 2
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to job sharing
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
