About the role

We're recruiting an experienced or early career Year 3 teacher for a long-term placement with a primary school in Walton on Thames, Surrey. You'll teach one Year 3 class, delivering high-quality teaching across the full curriculum as pupils progress into upper Key Stage 2.

As a Year 3 primary teacher, you'll deliver high-quality whole class teaching across the full curriculum with flexibility to specialise in particular subjects. You'll work within a collaborative school team, building relationships with your class and supporting their progression through the middle years of primary education.

Your role as a primary teacher in Year 3 will include:

• Teaching across the full curriculum with breadth and depth
• Delivering subject-specific teaching where you hold expertise
• Supporting pupil independence and growing resilience
• Behaviour management suited to upper primary learners
• Safeguarding and tracking pupil progress across core and foundation subjects
• Building professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
• Contributing to the school's upper primary provision

The role demands curriculum breadth and flexibility. You'll teach core subjects (English, maths, science) alongside foundation subjects (history, geography, PE, art, design technology). You might specialise in particular subjects or deliver the full curriculum to your class. You'll understand how Year 3 learners develop and support their growing independence.

About you

You're a qualified Year 3 teacher with proven experience in upper primary education. You might be an experienced Year 3 or upper KS2 specialist, an early career teacher with strong KS2 focus, someone returning to teaching in primary, or a teacher seeking to develop upper primary expertise. You bring:

• QTS qualification (or equivalent teaching qualification)
• Strong subject knowledge across the primary curriculum
• Experience teaching upper primary learners
• Proven classroom management suited to older primary pupils
• Understanding of progression and pupil development
• Reliability and commitment to pupil progress
