Job Description

Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wolverhampton to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher for a full academic year position starting in September 2026.

Staff work collaboratively and are passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of every child.The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 2 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Key Stage 1. The school is looking for a teacher who has experience within KS1, a strong understanding of phonics and the ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.

Your new role:
  • Full-time Year 2 Teacher position
  • Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Delivering high-quality phonics teaching and supporting pupils' literacy development
  • Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
  • Working closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to support pupil achievement
  • Dedicated PPA time provided
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
  • Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Experience delivering systematic phonics teaching
  • Confident planning and delivering engaging lessons
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
