Year 2 Teacher

Are you a passionate Key Stage 1 teacher looking for a part-time opportunity in a supportive and welcoming school community?

This Primary School, conveniently located close to the local train station in Chelmsford, is seeking a dedicated Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a maternity cover basis starting shortly after the Easter break. The school is looking to meet suitable candidates as soon as possible.

Role Overview

  • Position: Year 2 Teacher
  • Location: Chelmsford (easy access via train links)
  • Start Date: After Easter (interviews taking place ASAP)
  • Contract: Maternity cover
  • Working Pattern: 3-4 days per week (4 days preferred)
  • Pay: £130-£185 per day
  • Full teaching responsibilities included (planning, marking, assessments, parents' evenings, staff meetings and reports)
  • PPA time allocated in line with a 4-day timetable
  • Free on-site parking available

The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking a teacher who:

  • Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1 (Year 2 experience desirable)
  • Is confident managing full classroom responsibilities
  • Builds strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Maintains high expectations and a nurturing classroom ethos
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

This role would suit either an experienced teacher looking for a flexible working pattern or a confident ECT ready to take on class responsibility within a supportive structure.
