Workshop Labourer

We're looking to take on a Workshop Labourer to support the manufacturing processes of a busy engineering machine shop in Tewkesbury. The premises are modern, smart and clean, with long term job security and very varied work.

Job Title & Location

Job title: Workshop Labourer (engineering machine shop floor General Assistant). Location: Tewkesbury.

Key Responsibilities

• Removing swarf (metal chips or filings) from machinery;
• Cutting metal bar and sheet metal to length and correct sizes;
• Tidying workshop floor, washing floors and cleaning spills;
• Cleaning and packing components;
• Delivering products to customers using company van;
• Basic general building maintenance tasks as and when needed (painting, replacing light bulbs, general upkeep and basic handyperson-type jobs);
• Deburring of machined components as and when needed;
• Any associated duties as required.

Reporting to the Manager, you will work on an engineering factory site with engineers operating precision machinery. This busy role suits someone who enjoys a varied day and a keen interest in keeping the facility well stocked, clean, tidy and organised to support safe and effective work.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience of working in a similar engineering environment would be preferable. A driving licence is essential for this job.

Essential requirement: Driving licence.

Working Hours & Pay

Working hours: 39 hour working week, day shift, finishing at lunch time on Fridays, overtime available.

Pay rate: £14.25 to £14.75 per hour. Applicants should indicate their requirements.
