Job overview The postholder is responsible for the day to day prioritising, co-ordination and line management of the Workforce Intelligence team ensuring the most efficient use of resources and building resilience to enable the team to deliver a proactive workforce information service that can adapt to the needs of the business with agility.

You will ensure timely and accurate production of performance reports to key management forums of the Trust's governance framework, including the Board and its sub committees. The post holder will be responsible for designing reports to meet customer requirements and undertaking thorough analysis of performance issues, including working with Collaborative leadership teams and managers to achieve accompanying supporting narrative for performance reports.

This post may be suitable as a development role commencing at Band 5, with progression to Band 6 following a supported period of development.

Main duties of the job The Team Lead will work with their team to extract, analyse and present data from established workforce data systems, making complex information understandable for all levels of audience, ensuring that data and information requests made to the Team are completed in a timely manner and that excellent customer service is provided at all times.

You will have an e xpert working knowledge of the BI reporting function with the ability to perform and demonstrate the creation of bespoke reports and dashboards to fulfil organisational needs.

Key to this role is the design, development and maintenance of integrated performance reports that meet customer requirements, ensuring that robust and credible information is used in performance reports through the deployment of quality assurance processes and also building predictive tools for the early identification of potential risks and preventative action.

Through your team, you will produce detailed and timely workforce information reports for distribution to Executives, Collaborative Managers and Clinicians and other senior staff within the organisation. You will also support the development of a workforce information function within People Services, setting standards for standardised reporting of workforce data and information.

Person specification Qualifications
  • Degree level or equivalent plus additional specialist knowledge acquired through post graduate diploma level or equivalent relevant experience, ideally in a numerate subject,
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Qualification or training in recognised statistical techniques.
  • Membership of appropriate professional body.
Experience
  • Experience of planning and organisation of activities and programmes that support change and drive improvement.
  • Ability to make decisions and influence others to affect change
  • Experience of problem solving across a range of NHS and Non-NHS organisations
  • Experience and developed knowledge in performance information management
  • Experience of setting, agreeing and auditing standards and targets
  • Management of junior staff including delegating work, developing the team, appraisals etc
  • Experience working at a senior level in an admin role
  • Experience in auditing data quality, handling raw data, qualitative analytical techniques
  • Proven experience of developing information systems, interpreting highly complex data sets.
  • Use of database query and reporting skills such as SQL.
  • Experience of developing and implementing policies and procedures to meet objectives and improve services
  • Experience of Health Care Information.
