Job Description

Hybrid Working - Edinburgh - 2 days a week on site.

Lorien's leading banking client is looking for a Windows Server Engineer to join them

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile project - One Click Currency, which aims to revolutionise currency management and streamline operations across multiple regions.

As a Windows Server Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and resilient Windows Server environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure supports complex financial applications and meets stringent compliance standards.

This role is based in Edinburgh.

This role will be Via Umbrella.

Working in a Hybrid Model of 2 days a week on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022).
  • Implement and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
  • Support the One Click Currency project by ensuring robust server infrastructure and seamless integration.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches and updates.
  • Work closely with security teams to maintain compliance with global banking standards.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and other scripting tools.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Windows Server Engineer in enterprise-scale environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Hyper-V, and Windows clustering.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (Azure preferred) is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a regulated environment.
