Job Description
Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in the Greater Glasgow area, is currently looking to recruit a Windows 11 Deployment Engineer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £210/day (Inside IR35). This role will be based onsite in their Greater Glasgow offices.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end deployment of Windows 11 across the organisation.
- Build, maintain, and optimise Windows 11 images using tools such as SCCM & Intune
- Perform in-place upgrades and clean installations depending on device readiness.
- Ensure compliance with organisational security baselines and configuration standards.
- Assess application compatibility using tools such as Microsoft App Assure, Test Base, or other testing suites.
- Work with service owners to validate functionality post-deployment.
- Ensure user data is seamlessly transferred and validated.
- Provide technical support for Windows 11-related incidents, including post-migration issues.
- Work with the Service Desk and engineering teams to resolve escalations quickly.
- Provide clear communication to end users, teams, and project stakeholders.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and reporting.
- Participate in knowledge transfer and training sessions.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience deploying or supporting Windows 10/11 in a medium-to-large environment.
- Strong knowledge of Intune, SCCM, Autopilot,
- Understanding of Azure AD, identity management, and device enrolment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows operating systems and enterprise applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Organised, proactive, and able to prioritise tasks effectively in a busy environment.
- Customer-focused approach with attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with hardware refresh planning and life cycle management.
