Overview

The Student Life, Health and Wellbeing Directorate at Kingston University is seeking a Disability and Wellbeing Assistant to work between two multi-disciplinary teams and alongside the Disability and Mental Health Manager. You will support the triage of contact into the service and administration relating to support for disabled students and applicants in a busy service which aims to removes barriers, promote inclusive practice and enable independent learning. You will also provide triage and administrative support to the Counselling and Wellbeing Service in order to help it meet its aims of providing short-term therapeutic support and 1-1 guidance to students.

The role is primarily based at our Penrhyn Road campus with some working from home considered, in line with current University policy and business need. Occasional work on Saturdays is required to support student recruitment events (for which time off in lieu will be given).

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated individual to provide professional and specialist administrative support to the Disability and Mental Health Service and Counselling and Wellbeing Service, enabling it to meet its aims of providing support to students across the university.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and specialist administrative support to the Disability and Mental Health Service and Counselling and Wellbeing Service to help meet their aims of supporting students across the university.
  • Support triage of contact into the service and administrative tasks relating to support for disabled students and applicants.
  • Assist in creating an accessible and inclusive service by removing barriers and promoting inclusive practice to enable independent learning.
  • Provide triage and administrative support to the Counselling and Wellbeing Service to help deliver short-term therapeutic support and 1-1 guidance to students.
Qualifications and experience
  • Educated to Level 3 (A-Level) or equivalent, or possess an equivalent level of professional experience.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a busy office environment, prioritise workload, communicate effectively and multi-task as required.
  • Substantial knowledge of the issues affecting disabled students undertaking higher education studies and experience of working with a diverse student or client body.
Working arrangements

The Students Directorate aims to deliver a seamless, high-quality experience for all current and future students to ensure they are "sought after" through supporting their participation, attainment, and success. This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 June 2027.

Terms and remuneration

Starting salary: £29,478 per annum.

Interviews are expected to be held on 23rd April 2026.
