Tenant Services owns and manages over 5,000 homes across Stroud District. The Property Care Team provides repairs, maintenance and compliance services to our customers, enabling them to live in safe, compliant and well-maintained properties.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who is organised, has excellent attention to detail, is adaptable and committed to delivering excellent customer service.

About the Role

As a member of the Property Care Team, you will be responsible for carrying out water hygiene monitoring, maintenance, and remedial works across our housing stock. This includes undertaking planned inspections, flushing programmes, temperature monitoring, water sampling and minor plumbing repairs to ensure compliance with current water hygiene legislation and best practice.

You will identify the extent and scope of reported issues relating to water systems, undertake appropriate remedial actions, and ensure works are completed within agreed timescales. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and supporting the Council's commitment to managing risks associated with water systems, including Legionella.

The role may also involve participation in the out-of-hours service and occasional overtime working.

About You

You will have proven experience of working in a similar role within water hygiene, plumbing, building maintenance or the construction industry.

You will also have experience in:

  • Conducting water hygiene inspections and monitoring activities.
  • Identifying defects and compliance issues within domestic water systems.
  • Carrying out remedial repair works in accordance with work schedules and risk assessments.
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing compliance documentation.
  • Working to deadlines involving changing priorities, circumstances or demands.
  • Managing vehicle material stock by ensuring correct booking and regular replenishment of items used.
  • Understanding Legionella control measures and water hygiene best practice.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience of working within a local authority, social housing or compliance-focused environment. You will also need to demonstrate a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service and maintaining safe, compliant water systems for our residents.

It is important that our staff reflect the diversity of our community, and we therefore welcome and encourage applications from people of all genders and sexual orientation, those from Black, Asian and other minority ethnic backgrounds, and people with disabilities.

We are committed to ensuring that every applicant can participate fully and fairly in our recruitment process. To support this, we offer workplace adjustments at every stage. Please let us know if you have any additional requirements as we are here to help create a positive, inclusive, and equitable experience for all.
