Job Description
Warehouse Operative

The Warehouse Operative is responsible for unloading and loading vehicles, inspecting incoming goods, storing materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, picking and dispatching items, performing cycle counts, ensuring warehouse cleanliness, and supporting health and safety and environmental protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload and load vehicles and goods.
  • Visually inspect incoming material and packaging to ensure consignments match purchase orders and quality requirements.
  • Store material in accordance with material control and product preservation procedures.
  • Execute inventory movements, ensuring system transactions are completed accurately.
  • Pick and deliver kits to production.
  • Pack items for dispatch.
  • Conduct cycle count inventory to maintain accurate stock status.
  • Cover externally stored material to prevent contamination.
  • Collaborate with the Stores Team Leader to improve operating procedures and meet customer expectations.
  • Assist in the stock take process according to company procedures.
  • Comply with regulations and policies in environmental, health and safety, and quality.
  • Participate in risk assessments and health and safety audits.
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of warehouse and yard areas to ensure cleanliness and tidiness.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a stores environment.
  • Well organised, capable of prioritising and multitasking, and working to agreed schedules.
  • Computer literate, experienced in the use of MRP systems.
  • Self motivated with a flexible approach to the workload.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
  • Valid counterbalance forklift driving licence.
