Contract & Compensation

Contract: 3 month fixed-term. Salary: £28k-30k per annum.

Working Pattern

Monday to Friday, typically 9:00am - 5:00pm (flexibility required during peak periods).

Location

Between Woodyard Workshop (Ascot) and Occasionally Warehouse (Stratford Upon Avon).

Reports to

Warehouse & Logistics Manager.

Role Overview

The Warehouse Assistant supports the Warehouse & Logistics Manager in the day to day organisation, movement and management of stock, equipment and production assets across Lapland's large scale immersive experiences in Ascot & Manchester. This role focuses on providing practical warehouse, inventory and logistical support across the production function, helping to ensure assets, materials, equipment and deliveries are organised, maintained and moved efficiently and safely. Working closely with Production, Design, Procurement, Costume, Performance, Technical Production and wider operational teams, the Warehouse Assistant will support the preparation, maintenance and deployment of assets throughout planning, delivery and de rig periods. The role centres on stock handling, organisation, inventory accuracy, equipment preparation, warehouse upkeep and supporting the smooth movement of materials between warehouse, workshop and live event locations. This is a fixed term contract role based primarily at our Ascot workshop and Stratford Upon Avon warehouse, with on site support in Ascot & Manchester during peak delivery periods.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Warehouse & Logistics Manager with the day to day running of warehouse operations.
  • Receive, unload, check and organise incoming deliveries, materials and production equipment.
  • Pick, pack and prepare stock, props, set dressing, tools, equipment and materials for transport to site or other locations.
  • Assist with loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, asset tracking and stock location information.
  • Support regular stock checks, condition reporting and inventory audits.
  • Ensure all assets, equipment and materials are stored safely, logically and in an organised manner.
  • Assist with the movement of stock, materials and equipment between warehouse, workshop, office and event sites.
  • Support the preparation and packing of assets for build, live operation and de rig periods.
  • Assist with returns, unpacking, sorting and reorganisation of stock following event delivery.
  • Carry out basic maintenance, cleaning and upkeep of warehouse equipment, stock and storage areas.
  • Help identify damaged, missing or low stock items and report issues appropriately.
  • Support the assembly or preparation of basic production items where required.
  • Assist with vehicle loading plans, delivery schedules and logistics coordination as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and efficient warehouse working environment.
  • Follow health & safety procedures for manual handling, storage, transport and use of warehouse equipment.
  • Support wider production and logistics teams with practical operational tasks as required.
  • Provide ad hoc support across warehouse, workshop and event delivery operations during busy periods.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, stock control, production support or similar practical operational role.
  • Experience within events, theatre, live entertainment, production or a similar environment would be beneficial.
  • Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
  • Comfortable handling stock, equipment, tools and physical materials safely.
  • Good practical problem solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to follow systems, processes and instructions accurately.
  • Comfortable working in a physically active role involving lifting, moving, packing and loading.
  • Experience with inventory systems, stock tracking or asset management would be beneficial.
  • Basic IT confidence, including Microsoft Office or stock management systems.
  • Strong team working skills with a collaborative and flexible attitude.
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment where priorities may change.
  • Calm, practical and reliable approach under pressure.
  • Flexible approach to working hours during peak delivery periods, including occasional evenings and weekends where required.
  • Comfortable working across warehouse, workshop and live event environments, including outdoor locations in variable weather.
