Walsall Child Development Services Administrator NHS AfC: Band 3

Location: Walsall Child Development Centre, Walsall

Contract: Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £25,760 - £27,476 per annum (Pro rata)

Job overview

The role supports the integrated Child Development Centre, providing administrative support across Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and 0-19 services. The successful candidate will manage phone enquiries, maintain confidential records, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Main responsibilities
  • Provide high standard administrative support to the Walsall Child Development Centre.
  • Handle phone messages and enquiries, ensuring confidentiality and courtesy.
  • Utilise Patient Administration Systems, Electronic staff record systems and NHS Catalogue ordering systems (training provided).
  • Manage records, data collection, analysis and reporting using computer software packages.
  • Support multidisciplinary and multi agency care planning and information sharing.
  • Assist with scheduling, travel and conference preparation for the team.
Qualifications
  • RSA 3 Word Processing, or equivalent C&G 4400, or NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.
  • GCSE English Language Grade C or above (or equivalent).
Experience
  • Previous experience working with diverse and complex populations.
  • Experience dealing with members of the public and internal/external agencies.
  • Demonstrated initiative and problem solving.
Skills
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and colleague information.
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage own workload.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proactive and organisational presentation of information.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
Flexibility
  • Deal with patient complaints professionally.
  • Willingness to undertake training programmes.
  • Meet deadlines and adapt to service needs.
  • Use of Microsoft Office and email/internet.
