VMC on AWS Consultant

Our client, a VMware Partner and professional services provider, is seeking an experienced VMConAWS Consultant to support a high-impact data centre migration and transformation programme.

This role will lead the configuration and strategic planning efforts necessary for transitioning VMware Cloud on AWS environments, ensuring a seamless migration away from a Legacy data centre. The successful candidate will play a key role in enabling independent operations of a mission-critical cloud instance, while continuing to support enterprise recovery and resilience capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and optimise the current VMConAWS environment to ensure uninterrupted service during and after the transition.
• Collaborate closely with customer network teams to maintain secure and efficient connectivity to global sites post-migration.
• Reconfigure DNS and Active Directory environments to support detachment from Legacy infrastructure.
• Lead configuration and validation of VMware Live Cyber Recovery (VLCR) services.
• Coordinate the decommissioning or migration of workloads and virtual desktop infrastructure components to the target private cloud platform.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud on AWS (VMConAWS), including architecture and deployment.
• Solid understanding of data centre migration principles and hybrid cloud operations.
• Proficiency in DNS, Active Directory, and enterprise networking (including SD-WAN or similar technologies).
• Experience working with VMware Live Cyber Recovery or similar DR platforms.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across technical and business teams.
• Ability to manage change in complex, regulated environments.
