Job Description
Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Independent Practice North West London Full-Time Permanent No OOH

Are you an experienced small animal vet ready to take the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected independent practice in North West London, leading a friendly and progressive team that puts clients, patients, and teamwork at the heart of everything they do.

About the Practice

This long established clinic has built a loyal client base through genuine relationships, excellent communication, and compassionate, tailored care for every pet and owner. They're proud to offer the scope and equipment of a modern practice while maintaining the personal touch that makes independent practice so rewarding.

They're based in a vibrant North West London neighbourhood, close to green spaces and well connected transport links.

What Is On Offer

You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative team with a shared focus on quality medicine, surgical standards, and patient welfare. They encourage autonomy, professional development, and open communication throughout the practice.

These well equipped facilities include:

  • Digital dental radiography and a dedicated dental suite
  • Full IDEXX in house lab
  • Ultrasound, endoscopy, and bronchoscopy
  • Multi parameter monitoring and tonometry
  • Separate dog and cat consulting rooms, entrances, and wards
  • Purpose built theatre and a peaceful "quiet room" for end of life discussions

They also work closely with visiting specialists in cardiology, imaging, and advanced surgery, ensuring excellent continuity of care for complex cases.

The Role

This is a Lead Veterinary Surgeon position offering a great balance of clinical and leadership responsibilities. You'll be supported by a dedicated nursing and reception team, with time built into the schedule for client communication, case follow ups, and team collaboration.

  • 4 day week + 1 in 3 Saturdays (with day off in lieu)
  • No out of hours 20-30 minute consultations
  • Structured surgery and communication time each day
About You

We're looking for an experienced vet (minimum 5 years in UK small animal practice) who enjoys leading by example and fostering a positive, communicative team environment.

You'll be:

  • Confident in general medicine, surgery, and emergency care
  • A strong communicator with a genuine interest in building client trust
  • Supportive of colleagues and keen to help shape the clinical standards of the practice
  • An interest in dentistry would be advantageous
Why Join This Team?

This role offers the best of both worlds - the independence and flexibility of a non corporate environment, combined with the professional satisfaction of leading a close knit, clinically focused team. You'll have the freedom to practise veterinary medicine your way, backed by a team that values care, respect, and collaboration.
