Venture Growth Consultant

• Play a central role in the Freight Innovation Fund's Venture Growth Programme
• Support high-potential scale-ups and later-stage businesses with growth, investment readiness, and adoption in the freight and logistics sector
• Identify and select high-potential freight innovation businesses
• Manage structured growth and investment-readiness support
• Enable commercial progression through investor, customer, and industry engagement
• Coordinate programme delivery and maintain delivery momentum
• Manage stakeholders, governance, and reporting
• Ensure participating businesses receive a high-quality experience
• Work with colleagues and specialist partners providing direct business support to SMEs
• Support revenue targets and identify opportunities
• Contribute to bids and proposals

Requirements

• Experience designing and managing open calls, assessment frameworks, and due diligence processes
• Experience managing SME onboarding, engagement, and progression across trial and commercial pathways
• Experience coordinating specialist support for SMEs, including commercialisation, investor readiness, market access, and go-to-market activity
• Experience engaging industry partners, investors, and potential customers
• Experience monitoring performance and capturing impact, learning, and outcomes
• Experience translating outputs into evidence packs, case studies, and adoption-ready insights
• Experience coordinating stakeholder engagement, events, community-building, and programme visibility
• Experience developing repeatable playbooks, methodologies, and delivery approaches
• Highly organised and delivery focused
• Experience managing complex innovation programmes with multiple stakeholders
• Experience working with growth-stage businesses, investment-readiness programmes, accelerators, venture support, venture building, or commercialisation activity
• Strong communication skills and ability to build confidence with clients, internal teams, delivery partners, and participating businesses
• Programme management discipline and commercial awareness
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues providing specialist support
• Direct experience supporting scale-ups or SMEs is a bonus
