We need everyone's positive energy and innovative thinking to lead the energy transition to net zero. That's why we welcome applications from all backgrounds and experiences and have a range of flexible working options to suit everyone!

Here's what you'll be doing

Flexible base location involving occasional travel.

At E.ON, we're leading the transition to a smarter, more sustainable energy system. Our Energy Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) business is at the forefront of that journey - and we're looking for a skilled Vendor Manager to play a key role in optimising our City Energy Solutions (CES) supply chain.

In this pivotal role, you'll be the go-to expert for managing new and existing supplier relationships and contracts. Acting as a vital link between vendors, business stakeholders, and procurement, you'll help ensure our supplier base is agile, high-performing, and compliant with regulatory and operational standards.

From contract drafting and negotiation through to risk management and supplier performance, you'll bring your commercial acumen and technical understanding to influence outcomes that support our long-term business goals.

If you're ready to make a meaningful impact within a business committed to sustainability and innovation, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with UK Procurement category managers and others to develop CES' supplier and contractor base in terms of capability, quality and reach. This includes maintaining an awareness of UK industry supply options.
  • Own and Manage Key Purchase orders for the CES business ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and adequate funds are available at all times.
  • Use expertise in business to devise, draft and negotiate contract schedules containing clear, concise, unambiguous and effective vendor performance obligations to deliver outcomes required by E.ON.
  • Regular review of contracts to ensure they remain fit for purpose
  • Internal reporting of commercial or regulatory risks.
  • Authorising pre-approval of CES suppliers in SAP/supplier management platforms on behalf of CES
  • Central facilitator and escalation point for supplier concerns.
  • Integration with HSSE functions to ensure supplier compliance and risk management
What we need from you
  • A good understanding of current services, operations and quality management processes to a level capable of having credible, effective and challenging discussions with business and vendor experts.
  • A good working knowledge of SAP systems with experience
  • Proven technical knowledge across engineering practices, vendor capabilities, and complex contract management.
  • Substantial commercial expertise and ability to realise opportunities and control risks to drive improved outcomes.
  • Has a good understanding of contractual language and contract law and uses this to draft clear, unambiguous and legally enforceable contractual obligations as well as identifying situations where potential obligations on E.ON could be overly onerous or create undue business risks.
