Venafi Security Engineer - Contract

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Venafi Security Engineer to support the implementation, administration, and optimisation of enterprise certificate lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support the Venafi platform (TPP, TLS Protect, or Venafi as a Service).
• Manage the full lifecycle of digital certificates, including issuance, renewal, and revocation.
• Integrate Venafi with enterprise Certificate Authorities (Microsoft CA, DigiCert, Entrust, etc.).
• Automate certificate management using PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs.
• Troubleshoot PKI, TLS/SSL, and certificate-related issues.
• Work with infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and application teams to onboard new certificate use cases.
• Maintain documentation and support security and compliance initiatives.

Required Experience

• 5+ years' experience in Cyber Security, PKI, or Infrastructure Security.
• Strong hands-on experience with Venafi (TPP and/or TLS Protect).
• Solid understanding of PKI, TLS/SSL, and X.509 certificates.
• Experience integrating with enterprise Certificate Authorities.
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
• Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, or CI/CD tools.
• Experience with F5, NGINX, IIS, or Apache.
• Relevant security or cloud certifications.
