The role

As a Vehicle Maintenance Operative, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, delivering critical support to the Contract in a dynamic and high-impact environment.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle-specific standards, following authorised procedures where training is provided
• Conduct preparatory tasks including minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling
• Manage collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required
• Support usage tracking and routine checks of stores and equipment.
• Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off-road, day and night

This role is full time working 39 hours per week and is based on site at Bovington, Dorset.

Essential experience

• Strong communicator, confident in representing the department during meetings and site visits
• Manual handling and physical working
• Must be 21 or older due to licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK Driving Licence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
