Control Engineer - Vehicle Function Development

  • Location: Eindhoven
  • Salary: € 6.000 - € 7.500
  • Durartion: initially til 31-12-2026, probably will be extended


Job Description:

As a Control Engineer, you possess state-of-the-art knowledge in modeling techniques and control theory. You are capable of translating this knowledge into algorithms that efficiently integrate and operate various truck and vehicle components. A solid understanding-or a willingness to develop expertise-in Zero-Emission technologies and high-voltage automotive systems is essential.


You will work in a multidisciplinary team to develop control functions, leading efforts in specifying, designing, and implementing control systems-particularly for energy management in electric and hybrid vehicles, as well as driveline controls such as cruise control and start/stop systems.


Your Challenges:

  • Translate customer requirements into effective control concepts.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and report project progress to stakeholders in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Design and verify control concepts using SIL, HIL, or RCP on vehicles.
  • Monitor the function development process through implementation and validation.
  • Provide clear, unambiguous documentation of controller requirements for handover to the Embedded Engineering department.


You will collaborate closely with stakeholders such as function owners, system owners, architects, test engineers, and suppliers. You serve as the key link in transforming their input into a well-integrated control concept.


Your Profile:

  • Master's degree in Automotive, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in control function development, preferably within the automotive sector
  • Proactive and hands-on mindset
  • Strong knowledge of Matlab, Simulink, and control toolbox environments
  • Fluent in English with strong communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Preferred experience in:

SAE J1939, CAN, CAN-FD
