Job title: VDI Infrastructure Engineer - VMware/Omnissa Horizon
Security Clearance: ActiveSC Clearance
Day rate: £450 per day - Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months initially
Location: Nottingham - Hybrid
Start date: Flexible

Role
We are looking for an experienced SC cleared VMware/Omnissa Horizon Subject Matter Expert to support a key infrastructure environment.
This is a Horizon-focused role and requires strong hands-on experience of VMware/Omnissa Horizon.

The successful candidate will take technical ownership of the Horizon platform, providing technical project delivery, platform-level support and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the Subject Matter Expert for VMware/Omnissa Horizon
Provide hands-on administration, support and troubleshooting of the Horizon platform
Take technical ownership of Horizon-related issues and platform activities
Support VMware/vSphere and associated virtualisation infrastructure
Support technical projects through design, implementation, testing and transition into BAU
Diagnose and resolve complex platform and infrastructure issues
Provide knowledge transfer, mentoring and technical training to permanent engineering teams
Support BAU infrastructure activities and technical fixes where required
Collaborate with client teams and third-party suppliers on technical delivery
Support basic networking and data-centre management activities

Essential Skills

Expert/SME-level VMware/Omnissa Horizon experience - essential
Strong hands-on VMware and vSphere experience
Demonstrable experience supporting and troubleshooting Horizon at platform level
Ability to act as the technical authority for Horizon within an infrastructure team
Experience providing knowledge transfer, mentoring or training to other engineers
Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019 administration
HPE server infrastructure support
Active Directory administration
Strong infrastructure troubleshooting skills
Basic networking and data-centre management experience
