Job Description
Coach Education and Development Officer

Badminton Ireland is seeking a full time permanent Coach Education and Development Officer to report directly to the National Coach Education Manager. The role will lead the award winning BadminTEEN programme and play an important public facing administrative role organising formal coach education courses and development initiatives.

Background to Badminton Ireland

Badminton Ireland is the National Governing Body for Badminton on the island of Ireland. Its purpose is to provide a lifelong, safe and family friendly environment where all members can enjoy and experience an exciting sport and realise their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the primary contact for Badminton Ireland's BadminTEEN programme.
  • Deliver BadminTEEN and other coach development programmes nationally.
  • Assist the Development Manager with programme administration and post programme evaluation.
  • Serve as the primary contact for course queries from members, coaches and teachers via phone and email.
  • Identify suitable dates and coordinate with partners (clubs, provinces, LSPs, BI staff) to schedule coach education courses.
  • Plan and organise coach education/development courses, including booking facilities, liaising with venue operators, setting up events on the CRM system, managing learners, emailing members, managing event information on the website, promoting on social media, creating social media plans for TikTok and Instagram, circulating course information and resources, liaising with coach developers, registering BWF courses on the BWF World Academy of Sport platform.
  • Complete certification and reporting requirements for coach education courses, including uploading course completion forms to the Sport Ireland portal, uploading to the BWF Shuttle Time extranet, bulk uploading educational records to the CRM, liaising with Badminton Europe or BWF staff as required, and managing course satisfaction surveys via Microsoft Forms.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • BWF Level One coaching qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of using digital platforms effectively.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the coaching pathway in Ireland and the Badminton Ireland coach education courses.
  • Experience building effective working relationships with partners and key stakeholders.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail, process led and outcome focused.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and under time pressure.
  • Own car with a full clean driver's licence.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Qualified BWF Coach Developer.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in a sports related field, preferably sports management or coaching.
  • Experience with CRM systems and LMSs, preferably sports related.
  • Experience with website management.
  • Background in badminton or sport as an athlete, administrator or coach.
Salary and Hours

Salary: Available on request. Hours: 27 hours per week.

Hybrid role; office attendance at Irish Sport HQ, Sport Ireland Campus, D15 DY62.
