UX Designer - freelance - remote in EU - 6 months

We are looking for a CX/UX Designer to join a client in the nutrition industry.

The role sits within an innovation-focused digital team responsible for exploring new technologies, developing Proofs of Value (POVs), and creating customer-centred digital solutions for internal and external users.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, and an existing UI Designer across teams located in Heidelberg and Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Understanding & Discovery

• Conduct user research to understand customer behaviours, needs, frustrations and expectations.
• Develop personas and map end-to-end customer journeys.
• Identify customer pain points and opportunities for innovation.
• Help define business challenges and expected outcomes.

Workshop Facilitation

• Plan and facilitate design-thinking and co-creation workshops.
• Bring together users and stakeholders to explore problems and generate solutions.
• Guide participants from problem definition to validated concepts.
• Translate workshop outcomes into actionable insights and recommendations.

UX Design & Collaboration

• Translate business and customer requirements into concepts, user flows and experience requirements.
• Work closely with UI designers and developers to ensure the intended user experience is reflected in prototypes.
• Support the handover of UX deliverables for wireframing and prototyping activities.

Usability Testing & Measurement

• Design and conduct usability testing sessions.
• Evaluate user adoption and task completion.
• Define UX KPIs and performance metrics.
• Translate findings into recommendations and continuous improvements.

Required Skills

• 2-5 years of UX, CX, Service Design or Design Thinking experience.
• Proven experience conducting user research and customer interviews.
• Experience creating personas and customer journey maps.
• Strong workshop facilitation experience with stakeholder groups.
• Ability to translate customer insights into business requirements and concepts.
• Experience testing prototypes with users and analysing feedback.
• Strong analytical skills with experience defining KPIs and success metrics.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer-centric, energetic and empathetic personality.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience using Figma.
• Experience using Mural.
• Exposure to the food and nutrition industry.
