User Researcher - Active SC Required

We're looking for an urgent User Researcher with active SC clearance to support a high-profile UK government digital programme.

• Duration: 6 months
• Rate: £550 - £600 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: Remote
• Interview process: 1 stage
• Clearance: Active SC essential

The role You'll lead accessibility-focused user research across digital and non-digital touchpoints, ensuring services meet the Service Standard and support users with access needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing existing user research to identify accessibility gaps and service risks
• Mapping user touchpoints across channels, with a focus on accessibility and assisted digital support
• Identifying and analysing user journeys, highlighting gaps impacting users with access needs
• Defining and running user research methods prioritising accessibility
• Creating and delivering a user research plan aligned to accessibility standards
• Designing and conducting research with users with disabilities, including those affected by cognitive load
• Researching accessibility across digital and non-digital services
• Embedding research insight by working closely with multidisciplinary teams throughout the research life cycle

What we're looking for

• Strong public sector user research experience
• Proven expertise in accessibility-led research (WCAG, inclusive design)
• Experience working with users with disabilities and complex access needs
• Ability to engage and influence multidisciplinary teams
• Active SC clearance
