Job Description

The Upholsterer position in Madeley involves crafting and refurbishing furniture within a busy manufacturing operation. Working full-time, Monday to Friday, with early finishes on Fridays, you will handle tasks from frame preparation to final trimming. Your duties include cutting foams, fabrics, and leathers, fitting webbing and springs, and completing repairs to a high standard. The hourly rate ranges from £13.50 to £14.50, with a temporary-to-permanent contract on offer. Candidates need proven upholstery experience and proficiency with hand and power tools. You will follow production schedules, maintain equipment, and deliver quality workmanship.

About the Role

We're recruiting a skilled Upholsterer to join a growing furniture manufacturing team. You'll be responsible for upholstering a variety of products, from frames to finished pieces, ensuring exceptional craftsmanship and finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Upholstering furniture frames using foams, fabrics, leathers, and trims
  • Cutting materials to size using hand and power tools
  • Fitting webbing, springs, padding, and coverings
  • Completing repairs, refurbishments, and re upholstery work
  • Working to production schedules and quality standards
  • Maintaining tools and reporting any issues
What We're Looking For
  • Proven upholstery experience (traditional or modern techniques)
  • Confident using pneumatic staple guns, cutting tools, and upholstery equipment
  • Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail
  • Ability to read job sheets and follow instructions
  • Good physical stamina and manual handling capability
