About the Role

Connex Education is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Unqualified Teaching Assistants across primary schools in Portishead, Nailsea and Clevedon from September 2026.

You will have the opportunity to work across different primary school settings while developing your skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and learning tasks.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to encourage participation.
• Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials.
• Promote positive behaviour and pupil wellbeing.
• Support pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

Person Specification

• Minimum 6 months' experience working with children or young people is essential.
• Experience within a school, childcare, youth work, coaching, tutoring, or care setting is beneficial.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, adaptable, and professional approach.
• Passion for supporting children to achieve their best.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply through Connex Education.
• Right to work in the UK.
