The starting salary for this role will usually be at the bottom of the salary range and will be pro ra if the working hours are less than full time.
The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesAre you organised, proactive and enjoy providing excellent customer service? Surrey Police are looking for a Uniform Services Assistant to join our small team, helping to ensure that officers and staff across Surrey and Sussex Police have the uniform and equipment they need to carry out their vital roles.
This is a varied and hands on position where you'll play an important part in managing uniform and equipment supplies, ensuring orders are processed efficiently and delivered within agreed service levels.
What you'll be doing
- Picking, packing and dispatching uniform and equipment orders
- Providing uniform fitting services and offering advice to officers and staff
- Ordering stock and maintaining inventory levels
- Carrying out regular stock checks and stock taking activities
- Supporting day to day warehouse operations
- Assisting with the handling, recycling and environmentally responsible disposal of returned uniform and equipment
We're seeking someone who is reliable, well organised and able to thrive in a busy environment.
- Be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and capable of safely lifting and moving boxes and stock
- Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and staff across two Forces
- Be able to prioritise workloads effectively and manage multiple demands in a fast paced setting
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to stock management and resource planning
- Remain calm, focused and effective when working under pressure
