The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to clients and project teams, ensuring robust commercial governance, proactive risk management, and compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations, while supporting the successful delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

Our ambition is to become the Trusted Advisor for our clients in the procurement, construction, and operational phases of capital programmes by leveraging:

  • Our people and their extensive industry experience
  • Existing partnerships and relationships
  • Our global EY experience across the Capital Programme Delivery (CPD) project lifecycle
Your key responsibilities

To continue to grow EY's successful I&CP business, we are currently hiring Senior Contract Managers with an engineering/technical or construction related background.

A. Client Delivery & Contract Leadership
  • Work directly with EY's infrastructure clients to develop insight led, practical contract management solutions aligned with programme objectives.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop and implement contract management strategies that support programme schedules, budgets, and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead contract formation activities, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Provide expert advice on contract strategy, commercial models, and risk allocation across infrastructure programmes.
B. Contract Management & Governance
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with contract terms, conditions and specifications, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Manage contractual changes, variations, and claims, assessing impacts on scope, schedule, and cost, and securing appropriate approvals.
  • Identify, assess, and proactively manage contractual and commercial risks in collaboration with project and client stakeholders.
  • Track contract performance against agreed KPIs, milestones and deliverables, providing clear reporting to project teams and senior management.
  • Ensure contract governance processes are robust, transparent and aligned with industry best practice.
C. Commercial & Stakeholder Management
  • Monitor contract budgets, expenditures, and invoicing, resolving discrepancies and ensuring alignment with overall financial controls.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and delivery partners to promote collaboration and alignment with programme objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date contract records, documentation, and reporting outputs, including executive level status reports and presentations.
D. Internal Responsibilities
  • Support client account management activities, including project resourcing, financial management, and quality and risk management.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and EY colleagues to support growth and business development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with EY senior leadership and support the development and management of high performing contract and commercial teams.
  • Develop a strong understanding of EY service offerings and identify opportunities to enhance value for clients.
  • Build strong relationships across Consulting and other EY service lines.
  • Support people and capability development, including:
    • Coaching and mentoring team members
    • Conducting performance reviews and contributing to feedback
    • Supporting recruitment, retention, and training initiatives
    • Driving continuous professional and technical development
    • Promoting compliance with EY workplace policies and procedures
Skills and attributes for success
